The Circle of Filk

Ein Lied, das meine Erlebnisse auf dem DFDF beschreibt - und vermutlich die vieler Leute, die sich auf einer Filk-Convention trauen, das erste Mal ein Lied vorzutragen.

Auf der Filkcontinental 2012 durfte ich es im Hauptkonzert mit einem tollen Chor und Trommel singen. Es kam so gut an, dass wir es auf dem Wunschkonzert wiederholen durften. Vielen Dank an alle Mitwirkenden!

This filk song is about my experiences at my first Filk convention (the DFDF), which I could perform at my second one (the Filkcontinental) with a great choir. Thanks to all for making this happening!

wondered whether my song would fit

But then someone told me, it is just so easy,

come with me, grab a chair and sit

In a circle of filk, it's a wheel of music

It's a leap of faith, it's a band of fun

And I dared to sing, it was all starting

In a circle, a circle of filk

Some of us keep it simple,

and some of us soar to the stars

And some of us sail through our troubles,

some have words for all our scars

There is quite a lot to filk about,

films and books, serials, games abound

So just write down your verse (you might want to rehearse)

And than sing it in the endless round
